Brigitte Bardot and Saint-Tropez: an idyll
Sensual, free, provocative and determined, Brigitte Bardot represents woman in all her splendor; the symbol of femininity in the film “Et Dieu créa la femme”, painted by Andy Warhol and numerous other artists, the chosen celebrity for the famous Marianne bust. Bardot is adulated the world over.From 18th June to 25th October, the world famous artist will be the centre of all attention on the occasion of the exhibition which is entirely devoted to her at the Espace Rendez-Vous des Lices.Bardot cannot be separated from Saint-Tropez, she has always remained an idyll.
Saint-Tropez Town and the Tourist Board in collaboration with Akouna Production are paying a tribute to her.
An immersive exhibition
The exhibition is in three parts, based on a chronological itinerary, plunging the visitor into the heart of Brigitte Bardot’s tumultuous life, accompanied by the actress’s voice (songs, extracts from sound tracks…).
A succession of thematic alcoves, each bearing the title of a film, a song or a TV show, retraces BB’s life, from her childhood to her involvement in animal welfare, her universe, Saint-Tropez, her love affairs, her career comprised of around 50 films and more than 80 songs.
The Bardot eternity displays the formidable source of inspiration for the world’s photographers and artists and pays homage to her legendary and shining beauty.
Documents from archives, objects once in her possession, and culcult items baring witness to her influence on society, all contributing to an intense and amusing exhibition, illustrated by product and furniture design, interior architecture, within France and abroad.
B.B. is, without a shadow of a doubt, a dream queen. She fascinates us once again.
