How it all began...
One day during September 1981, two boats called “Pride†and “Ikra†challenge each other for fun.
The start of the coastal course was at Saint-Tropez’s Tour du Portalet and the finish at “Club 55†(private beach on Pampelonne bay) where Patrice de Colmont would present an improvised “Club 55 Cup†to the winner.
More friends joined in the challenge the following year.
The event was born and Patrice de Colmont created, in the family spirit, the famous “Nioulargueâ€.
However, the Nioulargue was postponed following a tragic accident in 1995...
